Frequently Asked Questions
This page is for you to expand over time. For now, here are some starter questions and answers you can tweak.
What is Numyn?
Numyn is desktop bookkeeping software designed for Canadian sole proprietors and small businesses. It focuses on practical forms, clean records, and exports that make tax time less painful.
Is Numyn a cloud service or a local app?
Numyn is designed as a local-first desktop app. Your financial data lives on your own machine, not on Numyn's servers.
Will Numyn help me file my taxes?
Numyn is not tax or legal advice. It aims to organize your records and generate summaries or exports that make it easier to work with your accountant or prepare forms like the T2125. You are still responsible for your own filings.
What is Numyn Tax Helper?
Numyn Tax Helper is an add-on module planned for launch alongside Numyn Core. It's focused on giving you organized views, summaries, and exports tailored around your small business tax workflow.
What is Numyn Inventory?
Numyn Inventory is a planned future module that will add deeper inventory tracking for product-based businesses, including quantities, categories, and supporting reports.
How will licensing work?
Numyn is planned as a one-time license per user or business (exact terms and limits are still being finalized). Purchases will be handled via a third-party payment processor like Lemon Squeezy. More details will be added here closer to launch.
When is Numyn launching?
Numyn Core is planned for release in Q1 2026. Early adopters on the waitlist will receive progress updates and first access announcements.
Will there be a free trial?
Yes. A free trial period is planned (exact length TBD). Waitlist members will be among the first to receive trial information and download access.
What operating systems does Numyn support?
Numyn Core is being developed primarily for Windows desktops. Support for macOS and Linux is planned following the public release depending on demand.
Is my financial data stored online?
No. Numyn is a local-first desktop application. Your bookkeeping data stays on your computer. Numyn's servers only handle optional features like the waitlist, alerts, and licensing—not your business records.
Will Numyn support HST, GST, PST, and other Canadian tax rules?
Yes. Numyn is built specifically with Canadian sole proprietors in mind. Support for HST/GST tracking, ITCs, and T2125-related categories is planned as core functionality.
Will Numyn Inventory include trade-in, store credit, or POS features?
Numyn Inventory will first focus on SKU tracking, quantities, valuations, and cost organization. Additional features—like store credit, vendor purchasing, and POS exports— may be added in later updates or as optional modules.
Can I export my data?
Absolutely. Numyn prioritizes exportability. CSV, PDF summaries, and year-end bundles will be available to help you back up or move your data whenever you like.
Does Numyn require internet?
No. Numyn is fully functional offline. Internet is only required for optional features such as updates, license activation, or contacting support.
How do I contact Numyn support?
You can reach support any time at support@numyn.ca.
